These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Activi, including the website and services available at activiread.com (the “Service”), operated by the owner of Activi (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Activi provides tools for active reading, including importing and displaying text you supply (such as links, pasted text, or files you upload), comprehension-related features, and related functionality. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Your content

You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, store, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, including security and abuse prevention. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that it does not violate applicable law or third-party rights.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans, if offered, are billed through our payment processor (e.g. Stripe). Fees, renewal, and cancellation terms are presented at checkout and in your billing settings. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew until cancelled. Taxes may apply based on your location.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: attempting to access non-public systems; interfering with the Service; using the Service to violate law; distributing malware; scraping or automated access that violates our policies or overloads infrastructure; or using the Service to generate or facilitate harmful, fraudulent, or illegal activity.

6. Third-party services and links

The Service may integrate with or link to third-party sites and services (including hosting, authentication, analytics, and AI providers). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Features that use automated or AI-assisted processing may produce imperfect or incomplete results; you should not rely on them as professional advice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or twenty-five U.S. dollars (USD $25), except where prohibited by law.

9. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violation of these Terms or for operational or legal reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where additional notice is required by law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Activi (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use activiread.com and related services (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Such as email address and authentication identifiers when you create or sign in to an account.
• Content you provide. Text, files, or links you submit for reading or processing within the Service.
• Usage and device data. Such as browser type, general location derived from IP, and interactions with the Service, used to operate and secure the product.
• Payment information. Processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

We do not claim ownership over any files or documents you upload to the Service.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve the Service, authenticate users, process subscriptions, personalize your experience where applicable, detect abuse and security issues, analyze usage in aggregate, and comply with legal obligations.

3. AI and processing

We only send the minimum necessary portions of your content to third-party providers to power specific features.

Some features may send portions of your content to third-party AI or processing providers to generate responses or assist with cleanup. We configure such processing to support the feature you use and do not sell your personal information. Review provider terms for details on how they handle data they process on our behalf.

We share information with service providers who help us run the Service (for example: hosting, authentication, databases, storage, payments, analytics, and AI). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
